Job Description

The Roads Maintenance Partnership is responsible for the delivery of roads maintenance activities by means of an integrated organisation comprising both Dundee City Council and Tayside Contracts employees. You will be based in the Road Maintenance Partnership Team, Contracts House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. You will have a relevant professional qualification and evidence of continuing professional development. You will be a member of an appropriate professional body or working towards membership.

Responsibilities

You will assist in managing and co-ordinating the road maintenance works programme and routine maintenance statutory obligations of inspection and defect repair. You wl be responsible of production of the annual works programme and management of professional and technical staff engaged in the assessment, design and supervision of planned and reactive road maintenance works. You will assist in managing staff administering claims and customer enquiries. You will review existing policies and prepare committee reports as directed. You will development of the Road Asset Management system and coordination of statutory reporting functions. You will also be responsible of financial monitoring of budget spend and projection including raising and approving orders.

The Individual

You will have management and supervisory experience along with experience in the design and implementation of road maintenance projects. You will have good communication skills both written and oral, problem solving abilities and be customer focused and computer literate. A flexible approach to working hours, capacity to work unsociable hours if required and the ability to undertake site visits and surveys is essential. A full driving licence is required.
