What You Will Do
As a Senior Engineer in the Hydraulic System team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to solving technical problems, developing new hydraulic system concepts, growing your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. The successful candidate should have a deep understanding of hydraulic system design, and the integration of hydraulics with other machine systems to optimize overall machine performance. You will partner with and provide technical guidance to global teams. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor and coach team members, and grow your professional network.
You will specifically be accountable for driving:
Test and develop new system through component solutions
Research and explore new technology
Develop original or innovative approaches to engineering design, cost reduction, and problem solving.
Create, propose, and lead new hydraulic system design projects for future and current product solutions
Promote quality and continuous improvement philosophy
Create test plans for validating design solutions and document results
Support and assist production assembly line and product field support personnel in troubleshooting hydraulic issues.
Participate in supplier collaboration and design review meetings
Deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar products, technologies, processes, services, and systems
Organize and prioritize work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time.

The successful candidate must bring (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
Hydraulic engineering work experience or design of off-highway construction machines
Basic knowledge of 3D modeling software, ideally ProE/Creo
Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Strong analytical skills
Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks
Top Candidates will bring:
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
Basic knowledge of testing and data acquisition tools
Basic knowledge of DATK (Data Acquisition Tool Kit)
Basic knowledge of simulation and analysis of Hydraulic Systems (i.e. Dynasty)
Basic knowledge in machine operation

What You Will Get
Job Title: Senior Engineer (Hydraulic Systems)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
Contract: Permanent

Location: Desford, Leicestershire – hybrid working will be considered 80% on location typical, but flexible based on workload.
Hours: Full Time – 37.50
Travel: Not required with this role.
