THE POSITION

We are looking for driven and adaptable EIA project managers or RTPI accredited environmental town planners to join our Environment and Consenting offering within the Environment and Engineering Team (E&E). The role will be based in either our Glasgow or Newcastle offices.

The E&E Team has a principal focus on renewable energy projects with particular expertise in wind energy developments, however our projects are wide ranging and also include port developments, industry, quarries, electrical infrastructure, and a wide range of energy generation and infrastructure.

Successful candidates will work on all aspects of the development of renewable energy schemes throughout the UK.


Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating EIAs and managing EIA teams;
  • Providing project planning support and advice;
  • Preparing or technically reviewing environmental reporting and input into EIAs;
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and supporting documents;
  • Undertaking due diligence reviews on behalf of lenders, vendors and investors.


REQUIREMENTS

Essential requirements include:

  • Experience in the planning sector (either public or private)
  • A passion to be involved in consultancy work specialising in renewable energy and energy infrastructure projects
  • As a minimum, an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject and will have attained RTPI chartership or other relevant accreditations such as CEnv or IEMA Registered EIA Practitioner.
  • Well developed project management and organisational skills;
  • A team focus and proven ability to work collaboratively


Desirable requirements:

  • Previous experience of large wind or solar energy developments would be advantageous
  • An understanding of the challenges facing energy developments and future energy systems.
  • A full driving license would be beneficial.
