Sunderland City Council currently has exciting opportunities to join our Refuse and Recycling Team in Environmental Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties including kerbside collections driving vehicles up to 26 tonne, with rear-steer axles, Bulky waste collections, Gritting Vehicles and Trade Collection Vehicles. Successful candidates must hold a current Class C HGV licence, Tachograph card and valid CPC card.
Working outdoors in all weather conditions within a great team, you will provide exceptional waste services to our residents. The job can be physically demanding.
Your normal working hours will be Tues andndash; Friday 07.30 andndash; 17.15 (37 hours per week)
You could be required to work on weekends and Bank/Public holidays, as well as between Christmas and New Year
Carry out such duties as may be required by the service as appropriate to the post.

You may be employed in any of the 4 Councils depots in Hendon, South Hylton, Houghton Le Spring or Washington, so the ability to travel between depots is required. Full PPE and training will be provided.
