Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with specialised experience in architectural metal work to join our client. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs and providing comprehensive estimates for architectural metal work projects. Your expertise will ensure that our clients receive accurate pricing information, enabling us to deliver high-quality and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and relevant documentation to understand project requirements.

- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to gain insights into project scope, materials, and design intent.

- Conduct thorough material take-offs and quantify the required quantity of architectural metal work materials, including steel, aluminium, glass, and other related components.

- Analyse project blueprints, sketches, and other technical documents to identify potential challenges, complexities, and value engineering opportunities.

- Research and source material suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather accurate pricing information for architectural metal work materials and services.

- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labour, material, equipment, and other project-related expenses.

- Collaborate with the sales team to review estimates and provide technical support during client presentations and negotiations.

- Monitor and track project costs, ensuring alignment with estimates and identifying any variances or potential risks.

- Continuously update and maintain a comprehensive database of pricing information, industry trends, and market rates.

- Participate in bid meetings, site visits, and pre-construction meetings to gather project insights and address any estimation-related queries.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as an Estimator, specifically in architectural metal work projects.

- Strong knowledge of architectural metal work materials, fabrication techniques, and installation processes.

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to perform accurate material take-offs and cost calculations.

- Familiarity with estimation software and tools, as well as proficiency in spreadsheet-based estimating techniques.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to meet project deadlines and deliver accurate estimates in a timely manner.

- A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will also be considered.
