Job description

Are you proactive and passionate about making a real difference to the lives of seriously ill children? Then this is the job for you! We are currently recruiting for 2 Senior Community Executives.
This is an exciting and varied role to prospect and manage our amazing high value patient families and Do It Yourself (DIY) community supporters, to engage and empower them to maximise their fundraising & support in all ways for GOSH Charity. No one day is the same and you’ll work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects to ensure our high value supporters have the best experience.
You’ll work closely with the other High Value Senior Executives across our portfolio, and with the Senior Manager and rest of the team to build and deliver on the High Value team strategy, budget and business plan. We aim to raise over £2.3m in the next year, largely from working with our patient families and DIY Events Fundraising, all in aid of the charity. In this role you’ll oversee the automated stewardship journeys for lower value supporters and focus on managing vital long-term high value relationships such as a team rowing the Amazon to raise £80K, to a school art exhibition committee raising 60K, to a patient family raising anything between £10K-£100K.
It’s a privilege to be working with some of our most loyal and closely connected supporters (including bereaved families) and collaboration with others such as our Hospital Engagement and Stewardship teams is essential. This is an exciting chance to build on the growth and potential our patient families and individual supporters have, to shape the future of high value engagement at the best paediatric hospital in Europe.
This role is also a great opportunity to build your knowledge working with high value community audiences, as part of a supportive and experienced team. It’s an amazing time to be a fundraiser at GOSH Charity as we continue to work on our biggest ever, £300m fundraising campaign to build a groundbreaking new Cancer Centre for Children.
About the Team
The High Value Community team consists of a Senior Manager, and three Senior Executives. As a united team we manage our DIY Individuals and Brighter Future Funds, as well as our TeamGOSH Funds and Charity of the Year Schools.
The High Value team sits within our wider Community Fundraising function; a team of 16 responsible for delivering over £5m of vital income for GOSH.
The Community Fundraising team is collaborative, high performing, supportive and passionate, and we’re proud to play a vital role in supporting GOSH Charity to deliver its new organisational strategy.
About You
You will have excellent people skills and a demonstrable experience of building lasting and effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to strategically generate income and engagement. You’ll pride yourself on your upbeat, professional and empathetic approach. And you’ll have a confident growth mindset to manage a varied busy workload, being happy taking ownership to create and maximise new opportunities by collaborating with others.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A real passion for fundraising and delivering engaging and inspiring supporter experiences and stewardship
- Experience of identifying new support and raising income from communities and individuals (especially in memory fundraisers)
- Proven ability to take a creative and dynamic approach to bring fresh ideas and use learnings to adapt and grow
- Effective & sensitive communication skills (you will need to be comfortable engaging with families of current and former GOSH patients & recently bereaved families)
- Experience of presenting to, working with and influencing multiple different stakeholder groups at different seniority levels
- Experience of using data insight to evaluate and improve stewardship of supporters in a strategic and effective way
- Proven ability in successfully delivering against business plans and targets
- A natural, confident collaborator who enjoys teambuilding and empowering others, both in the team and supporters.
