Delivery of our sport and physical activity strategy is through UoM Sport which is based across our campuses primarily in Fallowfield at the Armitage Sports Centre and in Manchester University Students’ Union on Oxford Road. Our activities take place across the city utilising a range of city facilities in supporting our community being active and promoting physical activity opportunities through our facilities and programmes. The university therefore is looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to supervise and coordinate the work of the health and fitness team (fitness & class instructors) and delivery of an excellent health and fitness offer within our facilities. As part of the Sport operations team and in liaison with the Health and Fitness Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and supervision of Fitness Facilities, ensure the delivery of quality fitness services and programmes, and develop an appropriate Health and fitness offer to meet the needs of all customers. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual to join UoM Sport to support our students and staff being more physically active in our programmes and facilities. Applicants should possess a Level 3 fitness qualification or related subject (or equivalent) with proven success & experience of working within a health and fitness environment with knowledge of group exercise class programming. Skills and experience must also include the ability to use software packages & leisure/member management systems. Applicants will be required to work on a fixed shift pattern which includes daytime evenings and weekends which includes key holder responsibilities.
