Our client, a reputable engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Flood Risk Engineer to join their Infrastructure team based in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will have experience in water resource management. You will lead a small team tasked with the production of Flood Risk assessment and drainage strategy reports for a variety of sectors that include commercial, general industrial and residential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Recognising and communicating flooding and drainage related constraints and opportunities at development sites.
- Producing and reviewing a wide range of FRAs and drainage strategies using MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage.
- Preparing Flood Risk Assessments.
- Undertaking conceptual and detail design of flood protection measures and drainage strategies, leading to planning applications or construction drawings.
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Assisting and producing fee proposals.
- Managing and developing stakeholder relationships to support the development of the drainage design and consents process.
- Writing clear and concise reports.
Experience And Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) in Geography/Environmental Sciences, or a BSc/BEng (Hons) in Geography/Environmental Sciences or a BSc/BEng (Hons) degree
- A minimum of 3 years demonstratable experience assessing Flood Risk and drainage strategy,
- Experience in hydrology and the use of hydraulic modelling packages would be an advantage.
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD, Micro Drainage or InfoDrainage and GIS packages
- Good knowledge of the planning system, in particular policy and guidance such as the NPPF and SuDS Manual.
