Senior Front End Developer

Purpose of Post:

JAQ Group is one of the UK's leading and fastest-growing direct-to-consumer e-commerce groups comprised of 4 (soon to be 5) brands. In the past 12 months, we’ve grown over 100% YoY with The Essence Vault, our primary brand, being a key driver. We are looking to add to our team of dedicated A-players based in Co. Antrim to continue to drive forward our mission and support the growth of our latest brand launches through the rest of 2024 and beyond.

Due to this recent growth, we’ve been evolving our long-term strategy to drive efficient expansion of our operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, the Senior React/JavaScript Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining our e-commerce platforms on Shopify. This role requires a highly business-focused, deep expertise in React and JavaScript, and a passion for creating seamless and efficient user experiences.

We are seeking a technically skilled, detail-oriented developer with strong problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, and operations, to implement new features, optimise performance, and enhance our online presence.

Key Tasks include but are not limited to:

Leading the development, testing, and maintenance of our Shopify themes and applications.

Work with our CRO team to create and optimise e-commerce journeys and user experiences.

Work on internal applications and services to support business operations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Contribute to the strategic direction of our technology stack.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of all sites and applications.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.

KPIs

• Integrating with the current development workflow, including version control, deployment processes, and code review practices.
• Completion of smaller Shopify theme and app development projects on time and within scope.
• Identifying and addressing areas of improvement or immediate bugs/technical debt.
• Implement initial performance improvements and measure their impact.
• Work with the CMO/CTO to plan further UX improvements.
• Completion of major Shopify theme and app development projects on time and within scope.
• Demonstrable improvements in the performance, speed, and scalability of Shopify sites.
• Positive feedback from users and stakeholders on the improvements in e-commerce journeys and user interfaces.
• Increase in key e-commerce metrics such as conversion rates, average order value, and customer satisfaction.
• Consistent delivery of clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to industry best practices.
• Regular contributions to code reviews and the establishment of coding standards and guidelines.
• Effective troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues, reducing downtime and improving site reliability.
• Development and implementation of proactive measures to prevent recurring technical problems.
