We know you – you’re the one who brings a bit of life, plenty of optimism and bags of support to the team. In fact, your care so much about your colleagues that you've been known to bring them coffee on particularly tough mornings. And you're not just a problem solver; you're the one who cracks jokes while brainstorming solutions.
You’re more than good fun to be around, though. You are super creative, are always coming up with new ideas and your communication skills are second to none. You could explain JavaScript to a penguin (and they'd get it!). But that's not all! You're pragmatic, detail-oriented, and have a real ‘can do’ attitude, even when the pressure is on. How you make it all possible…
- Developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure applications, modules, components and systems
- Collaborating with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver on tickets and project deliverables
- Designing and implementing efficient and reusable code while adhering to DRPG processes and coding standards
- Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability
- Participating in the planning, estimation, and prioritisation of development tasks
- Staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the Javascript, React and web development communities, and evaluating their potential impact on our projects
- Mentor andprovide technical guidance to junior developers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team
- Collaborating with the DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and continuous integration processes
This list is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to work flexibly and undertake other such duties as the management may, from time to time, reasonably require.
What’s in your toolbox…
- Ability to write clean, performant JavaScript and TypeScript using one or more major JavaScript frameworks such as React or VueJS
- Solid understanding of core React concepts such as functional components, routing, life-cycle events, advanced hooks, mounting and props
- Familiarity with other JavaScript libraries such as ThreeJS
- Experience writing tests for your code with frameworks like Jest, storybook or Cyprus
- Understanding of bundling tools such as NPM, Yarn, Webpack and Babel
- Experience working with in-house standards and linting for consistency
- Solid understanding of less/sass
- In-depth knowledge ofbest-practice around software engineering and the supporting theory
- Understand the different programming paradigms such as functional development vsobject oriented development
- Heaps of knowledge on common CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap
- Experience with Git, GitLab and CI/CD
- Spot-on knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues and workarounds
- Profiling and debugging tools
- A real ‘can do’ attitude that makes anything possible

The role can be based from any of our UK offices, but there will be times when you’ll need to work from our other places and undertake other related commercial duties both in the UK and overseas. Flexibility is key!
