About Us

The Ayrshire Hospice is a values-driven organisation which provides quality specialist palliative care for adults with a life-limiting illness within Ayrshire and Arran. We are passionate about delivering exceptional and personalised care for patients and their families.

We provide a wide range of services and care in people’s homes, care homes and hospitals, as well as in the hospice itself. This is provided at no cost to our patients or their families. Our vision is to reach and improve the lives of everyone in Ayrshire affected by life-limiting illness. We are so fortunate to benefit from the support of our amazing Ayrshire & Arran community who give so kindly to our work and we seek to build and develop relationships with all stakeholders.

The role and what we are looking for

We are looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to join our fundraising team as a Trusts & Grants Fundraiser.
You will be able to demonstrate success in securing grant income across the entire grant development process – from research; matching criteria; creating the project proposal; submission; grant-support; grant-offer; grant-monitoring; and relationship-building.

The post requires strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage projects, organise and plan your own work and the work of others to deliver objectives on time.

A knowledge and experience of office administration processes and practices, database management, customer service and direct sales is essential. Proficiency in a range of computer applications, particularly spreadsheets, databases, email and word processing and strong analytical and numeracy skills, with a demonstrable ability to effectively analyse and interpret financial information and prepare financial reports is required.

You should have excellent communication skills both written and oral and have an ability to communicate confidently and clearly to a range of diverse audiences and to achieve objectives through these contacts. This will involve negotiation skills, motivation, influencing, tact, diplomacy and persuasion.

A knowledge of law relating to wills and the application of direct marketing is desirable.

You should also be able to have demonstrable experience of working in a fundraising environment and dealing with donors and the general public is desirable.

What we will give in return?

At the Ayrshire Hospice, we strive to live by our Hospice values and commitments, where every staff member has a sense of belonging. We value our differences and fully advocate, cultivate and support an inclusive working environment where staff treat one another with dignity and respect. We aim to create an equitable working environment where every individual can fulfil their potential.

The Ayrshire Hospice is a friendly, welcoming and supportive place to work. As part of the hospice team, you can enjoy a variety of benefits including a competitive salary, generous annual leave, organisational pension scheme, employee assistance programme, comprehensive induction, continuous learning and development opportunities and access to the NHS Staff Benefits Scheme.
