Incredible Scottish indie game developer Blazing Griffin are working with us to bring onboard a Senior Game Designer to help define key systems and creative direction alongside Narrative Design, Code and Art in their new action and adventure IP.
Having won numerous awards for their games across mobile, PC, console and XR, Blazing Griffin develop some of the most amazing narrative driven experiences! Titles include Murder Mystery Machine for Apple Arcade, Catan: Tilt Five AR, the BAFTA Scotland award-winning Hercule Poirot: The First Cases and its sequel Hercule Poirot: The London Case.
As a Senior Game Designer, you will take ownership of game features from inception through to release, striving for quality while adhering to the core vision of the game. You will also mentor Junior Game Designers, aiding their development and taking pride in their progression.
Your responsibilities will also include…
  • Coordinating with other disciplines to plan and scope project features
  • Creating and owning project documentation
  • Working in engine to create, implement and bug fix game content
  • Delegating work to the wider team and helping to lead project team members towards a common goal
  • Reviewing and adapting designs based on user testing and approved internal feedback
  • Championing quality for multiple feature designs; executing the creative vision of the game
  • Scoping out planning your own tasks and those of others within the Design team
  • Setting tasks, monitoring and managing the quality of output for Design team members
  • Communicating with and presenting to clients
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role…
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Unity game engine
  • Worked on two or more completed and shipped projects
  • Strong understanding of modern gaming trends
  • Approachable personality with a desire to be part of a team
  • Proven track record in the field of game design
  • Passionate love of gaming
Desirable experience…
  • Understanding of C++ and/or C# programming languages
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine
  • Presentation, public speaking and pitching experience
  • Console development experience
