Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Shropshire
Overview
Responsibilities
- Undertake research and investigations to develop a clear understanding of the ground conditions at a project site
- Plan, specify and manage site investigations and laboratory testing programmes
- Collate and analyse field and laboratory data and undertake analyses related to the project design
- Undertake geotechnical design and prepare detailed geotechnical reports and supervise others
- Attend sites and project where required to assist with site inspections and surveys
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the agreed budget and timescales
- Monitor the costs and programme of projects and provide information to ensure prompt invoicing of fees
Requirements
- BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering or a Geology related subject
- Chartered or working towards Chartership with the Geological Society or ICE
- Minium 6 years’ demonstrable industry relevant background in geotechnical design and construction and a good working knowledge of ground conditions in the United Kingdom
- Ability to anticipate and interpret ground conditions and to develop accurate ground models from site investigation and desk study information
- Significant experience of geotechnical analysis design of earthworks and structures for example, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls and slopes
- Good verbal and written English
- Ability to produce work of a high standard with minimum supervision
- Ability to organise your own work and time management and supervise less experienced team members
- A full UK driving licence
