RWE Offshore Wind GmbH 

To start as soon as possible, full time / part time, permanent

As Senior GIS Manager you will support our a multi gigawatt pipeline of offshore wind farm projects in the UK in relation to all GIS specific requests and tasks with your expertise. You are responsible for all GIS-related services in alignment with the specific project requirements and needs (e.g. data management, data processing, analysis, visualization etc.). You might also get the chance to support our global early development and O&M activities.

Furthermore, you will take part in the further continuous development and improvement of our services, system and workflows. The role will also require occasional travel within Europe and beyond and attendance at industry conferences. This is an exciting role within RWE and the experienced applicant will be a key member of a team with exciting growth targets.

Your Future Plans

  • Support of our offshore wind projects as well as our planned due diligence projects in all GIS related activities and work packages with a focus on UK projects. This includes, but is not limited to, project specific spatial data processing, data management, data processing, data analysis, provision of technical specifications for externals, desktop map production etc
  • Design, configuration and further development of interactive web applications for offshore projects (e.g. specific tools for data analysis in alignment with the project-specific customer requirements
  • Collaboration and implementation of processes to standardize services from the GIS team (e.g. “constraints mapping”) in the context of due diligence activities and across all project life-cycle stages
  • Integrate geographic, survey, title, infrastructure and other data into powerful visual representations for information and decision making purposes
  • Collaboration in achieving of team-specific and department-specific targets in alignment with the strategy of Offshore division

Your Profile

  • Experience in using GIS for processing, analysing and visualisation of spatial data in a professional environment incl. frequent use of model builder or python ideally in the marine / renewable sectors
  • Knowledge in the use and configuration of enterprise GIS systems incl. web application development / configuration (esp. ESRI products)
  • Customer focused team worker with hands-on mentality
  • Robust language skills in English are required (knowledge of German or other languages is a valuable addition)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geography or other natural science and GIS related sciences (spatial planning, environmental studies)
  • Significant background in ESRI products, including ArcPro; Knowledge of other mapping products including AutoCAD, DeLorme XMap, Global Mapper, Google Earth, etc. is a bonus
  • Professional background in the energy industry with understanding of energy markets, renewable technologies and regulation preferred

This role could be placed in any of our UK Offices and we offer agile working to all and part time can also be considered.
