Are you a talented Graphic Designer ready to make a significant impact on one of the country’s fastest growing boroughs? We are looking for a creative, conscientious, and consistent Senior Graphic Designer to elevate the Council’s brand to new heights. You must work to promote a highly professional internal and external brand, and support our Communications Team in achieving our corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently adhere to brand guidelines and act as a brand guardian to ensure impactful design across all channels and assets.
  • Produce high-quality design assets for online and offline use, including social media and web banners, corporate videos, brochures, events, flyers, and merchandise.
  • Create engaging digital videos and animations – attending Council and partner events when needed.
  • Support presentations / collateral to present the Council in the best light to residents and partners.
  • Provide intranet / web design support for content publication and enhance user experience on the corporate website.
  • Work across the organisation at all levels, thriving in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree-level (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong proficiency in using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Excellent layout and typography skills.
  • Proficiency in illustrative work.
  • Skills in video animation production.
  • Conceptual flair with an exceptional eye for quality and detail, coupled with the ability to challenge when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to confidently present ideas to the wider team.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of web design, user experience principles, and publishing content across a variety of platforms and devices.
  • Knowledge and experience in capturing corporate photography, video, and audio content to support multi-channel marketing and communication campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of editing software such as Premiere or Final Cut Pro would be a bonus.

You will be able to plan and deliver high profile communications and marketing projects and be proficient at writing press releases. The post-holder will be willing to work across Council services where needed and feel comfortable working in a busy and challenging environment.

Applicants will  be educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) in English, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office along with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube. They will also have experience of monitoring budgets, as well as excellent administration and organisational skills. Accuracy and an attention to detail are crucial to the success of this role. Proficiency with Photostop, InDesign or Illustrator is desirable but not essential. Basic photography skills would be a bonus.

Applicants must be flexible about working at weekends when required. They should hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for which a mileage allowance will be paid. The Council operates a flexi time working policy.

Please note this is a politically neutral role.
