Your new role

With a robust pipeline of interesting civil engineering and public realm design projects, the Senior Highways Design Engineer will join the Highways and Infrastructure team and lead on the delivery of various design projects. You will also be tasked with managing multiple projects and leading delivery teams on schemes including town centre redevelopments, new cycle ways, civic squares, junction improvements and carriageway maintenance schemes to name a few.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate

• Coordinating and cooperating with the Contractor throughout the design and built
• Assisting the delivery team to ensure project work is technically correct
• Managing projects in accordance with Client requirements
• Helping to support junior team members to produce exceptionally high-quality outputs
• Implement processes to ensure the quality and accuracy of design work, including reviewing and approving drawings and specifications.

About you

The Senior Highways Design Engineer would ideally have a couple of years of London-centric experience under their belt. They will bring energy and enthusiasm to the team and have keen client and stakeholder liaison skills. It would be great if you can tick off most of the below:

• Project Management experience and proven ability to deliver to time and budget.
• A strong foundation in civil engineering with a focus on highway design principles, including geometric design, pavement design, and drainage systems.
• Strong CAD skills (Civil 3D desirable)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during the design and implementation phases.
• Communicate design concepts and project updates to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
