SENIOR HOUSING ASSISTANT -  9.00AM TO 5.00PM OVER 7 DAY PERIOD WITH ALTERNATE WEEKENDS  - SOME ON CALL RESPONSIBILITIES (ON ROTA SYSTEM, ADDITIONAL RENUMERATION) – 35 HOURS PER WEEK – WORKING WITH ELDERLY PEOPLE IN INDEPENDENT LIVING – DERBY (DE22)

A Senior Housing Assistant’s day will be spent working as part of the Supported Living team on site providing intensive housing management services for all residents, enabling residents to achieve maximum independence and general wellbeing. You will be liaising with the Estate Manager on a daily basis and supervising and directing the work of the Supported Living Housing Assistants, ensuring that a high standard of service is maintained for the residents.  

• Co-ordinating the activities of the 2/ 3 Supported Living Housing Assistants.
• Scheduling and undertaking visits and providing housing related advise and assistance to estate residents.
• Liaising with and updating the Estate Manager regarding any resident’s housing related issues or problems.
• Provide OnCall out of hours housing management and security response e.g. fire, flood, in accordance with policies and procedures for which additional remuneration is given. 
• Ensure a fast and efficient response to residents’ requests for housing related matters for example repairs, advice on rent, service charges or Housing Benefit advice.
• Liaising with other departments and volunteers regarding the housing needs of residents.
• Promoting good communication between the residents and the Management team.
• Providing cover in the absence of other members of the sheltered housing team.
• Assisting the Estate Manager in implementing quality assurance initiatives to improve the standards and the development of services offered by the charity.
• Encouraging the application of inclusivity and diversity in all areas.
• Work with residents to an agreed plan to address their housing needs and requirements where appropriate and lead on move in and moving out support and procedures
• Promote, support and assist with activities and events across the estate.
• Maintain good record keeping, communication and work planning  in accordance with company procedures.
• Make reports for the Estate Manager and/or other agencies on individual residents or estate matters where necessary.

Senior Housing Assistant Qualifications and experience:

• Preference to NVQ/SVQ level 3 or equivalent or willing to train to NVQ/SVQ 3
• Experience of supervising/managing small team
• Experience of delivering services to vulnerable adult client groups
• Working independently using initiative, as well as working within a team.
