Senior Housing Officer – Adaptations and Energy Efficiency

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with a housing background to join the team. The successful candidate will:
- be responsible for the day to day management of a specific area of housing
- maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise related to housing legislation and practice
- be responsible for acting in accordance with our statutory functions, Council policies, procedures, and relevant Government legislation across the Housing Service
- provide a key link with Team Manager and/ work with other Senior Officers in ensuring that teams are managed consistently to meet corporate and service objectives and that these are effectively co-ordinated and implemented across the Service’s areas of operation
Whilst Senior Officers have specific responsibility to manage a team and/or function, they have a corporate responsibility to ensure that their service activities and actions are consistently managed to support Council objectives and standards:
- to work creatively and collaboratively to achieve the highest possible standards of performance in Ceredigion County Council’s Through Age and Wellbeing model
- to deputise for Team Managers, when required, at corporate, regional and national level
In addition to the above, we require an individual with a degree of fluency in the Welsh language. A successful applicant without the required Welsh Language skill will be fully supported to reach the desired standard within two years of appointment.
Ceredigion County Council operates a hybrid system of flexible working. This will involve agile and home working rather than a permanent office base. Flexible working hours will be 0600 – 2100 hours subject to agreement with your line manager and the needs of the role, with at least 4 core hours worked between 0900 – 1700 hours.
