The Role & Responsibilities

The purpose of the People Partner position is to establish and maintain critical stakeholder relationships to align our HR initiatives with the business objectives and strategy. This strategic role requires strong engagement, a deep understanding of the drivers for success and the alignment of our people strategy to support the delivery.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Develop robust and credible stakeholder relationships with functional heads
  • Partner functional heads with delivering people activities including talent & succession planning, compensation process, engagement programmes and operating model changes
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Work closely with the Employment Advice team to bridge management and employee relations through trends analysis and topical legislation matters
  • Work closely with the businesses to understand their resourcing needs in line with budget and forecasting processes. Provide oversight to the Talent & Engagement team to ensure delivery of an efficient and cost effective resourcing strategy to grow the functions.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of our workforce.
  • Support the delivery an embedding of Talent programmes including the Shawbrook Leadership Programme, Succession Planning and Apprenticeship Programmes.
  • Support leadership teams in understanding relevant and timely people metrics and detailed reports as required – this includes internal recruitment MI, exit interview analysis and external market data/ trend analysis
  • Champion performance management across the functions, providing coaching to managers and oversee the annual performance management and compensation review processes.
  • Work closely with the members of the HR leadership team to establish and embed the EVP and encourage inclusive and collaborative team environments
  • Ensure legal compliance with management practices.
  • Lead a high-performing, engaged team, and sponsor people initiatives within Central Functions
  • Partnership with the L&D Business Partner in the delivery of individual and team development initiatives.
  • Inspire and motivate a high performance and inclusive culture by partnering with the Talent & Development team and encourage teams to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback and business reviews.

The Person

  • CIPD Qualification (Not essential)
  • A fast paced and rapid change environment which creates opportunity to learn, grow and make a difference.
  • The ideal candidate will be passionate about doing the right thing, a keen interest in process and controls evolution and a high level of attention to detail. 
  • Building relationships internally and externally to gather, analyse and share information is key to the success of this role.
