Reporting to the Director – Human Resources at Kohler Mira, you will proactively support leaders on key talent and culture initiatives within aligned customer groups, as well as managing day-to-day people matters by advising on people challenges, in-house processes, and systems. Together with supporting key HR projects aligned to the people strategic plan, you will enable progress toward business strategies with the aim of enhancing operational effectiveness and cultural mindset through improved managerial competence, inspiring leadership, and associate engagement. Customer groups will be aligned as per business needs.
- Responsible for generalist HR support on day-to-day issues within area of responsibility, the principle aim will be to promote best practice within prevailing legislative framework.
- Hold people leaders accountable and support in the delivery of effective people leadership practices, i.e., transparency of pay and performance, development and performance discussions and engagement results.
- Work collaboratively with business leaders and recruiters, develop recruiting strategies to fill key positions, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure timely action and cost-effective strategies to develop candidates and build a talent pipeline.
- Identify critical positions and develop succession strategies for those positions. Identify and hold discussions with high potential associates for career development and training needs. Recommend developmental assignments for selected associates. Link Kohler Co‘s overall organizational development and succession planning activity to nurture high potential employees.
- Signpost managers to self-serve options to support them owning HR tasks.
- Supporting the Director – Human Resources at Kohler Mira in the roll out of HR process, system, and policy change, including briefing managers and associates. Take lead in monitoring completion and quality related to these activities.
- In partnership with HR team and business leaders define, develop, implement, and evaluate strategies and programs to improve associate and operational performance.
- Advice and support managers with complex employee relations matters by advising on procedural and substantive issues for formal hearings and investigations. (For example, disciplinaries, performance management issues, grievances, and absence management).
- Responsibility for achieving specific longer term HR projects, such as Management Upskilling, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, in line with People Strategy as assigned by the Director – Human Resources.
- Analyzing and quantifying training needs in conjunction with departmental managers and COEs.
Partner with HR COE’s to be knowledgeable about the latest learning trends, technologies, and best practices.- Undertake special projects on behalf of Corporate and local Human Resources teams in support of strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and analyse metrics and other HR data as needed for making and advising on business decisions.
Skills/Requirements
This position would suit someone who is hands on, enjoys variety and is motivated to equip leaders for the future. An appreciation of best practice and the added value that HR can provide is essential.
- It is essential to be a relationship builder who can quickly gain credibility and respect at all levels.
- Preferably part CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD, with at least 3-5 years HR experience in a complex business environment.
- Must be able to work on own initiative, be comfortable with complexity and change, and possess good personal time management skills.
- Demonstrates a customer service approach, whilst continuing to coach managers for the future.
- An ability to push back/ challenge managers in an appropriate way.
- Relevant and up to date understanding of employment law.
- Can independently work through employee relations issues with an awareness of the dynamics of a unionised environment.
- A keen eye for attention to detail.
- Practices self-development and establishes a cycle of continuous learning
- Able to apply internal consulting skills to drive solutions for business challenges whilst delighting our customers.
