An opportunity has arisen for a talented Senior HR Advisor to join a respected college on the outskirts of Reading. They would welcome a Senior HR Advisor who can offer their professional expertise in employee relations, performance management and attendance. Previous experience in the education sector is preferable but not exclusive. The role would suit a car owner as it is based fully onsite

Salary: £45000
Hours of work: 8.30am - 4.30am
Holiday entitlement: 20 days plus bank holidays with additional Christmas close down

The Senior HR Advisor will be responsible for:
- Contributes to the efficient running of the HR function, providing professional HR expertise on employee relations, performance management and attendance to managers and employees, coaching on best practice people management and legislation.
- Provide professional advice and support to managers and staff on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures, terms and conditions of service and legislation, always promoting good employee relations and ensuring legal obligations are maintained.
- Proactively support managers in applying a consistent approach to the handling of short and long-term sickness absence including accurate record keeping and return to work interviews and advising on the application of the absence procedure to reduce levels of sickness absence.
- Undertake and analyse employee data to identify any trends/issues and act where necessary. Provide management information to inform people management solutions.
The successful Senior HR Advisor will have the following skills/experience:
- CIPD Level 5 or 7 in HR (or equivalent level of experience).
- Effective management of a caseload including keeping accurate records and ensuring timely, appropriately risk assessed resolutions.
- Good working knowledge of employment law and its application when managing and advising on employee relations casework.
- Demonstrates a passion for developing people, with great coaching skills
Desirable skills
- Previous experience as a Senior HR Advisor in an Educational or equivalent setting.
- Experience of working with trade unions.
