Senior ICT Officer 36.25 Hrs (1 FTE)

Local Government service delivery is a fast changing environment and this is an exciting opportunity to join Moray Council and be at the heart of this change as we continue our delivery of public services. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual who possess’ a good balance of technical understanding, application development skills and strong communication skills to join our team.
You will have experience in developing, testing and deploying effective digital solutions and applications. In addition, you should be able to display a good understanding of application and data security principals.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: -
- Participate fully in application support and projects
- Design, develop and test applications
- Engage with stakeholders and third parties to manage, support and develop effective solutions
- Provide project status updates
Knowledge in the following areas would be a distinct advantage.
- Unix scripting
- Oracle
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Project management principles
- Business Objects / Cognos
- System interfacing

(2) JOB PURPOSE AND WAY OF WORKING |
To assist the ICT Team Leaders to ensure that the ICT service meets the needs of the Council and is delivered as effectively and efficiently as possible. |
(3) MAJOR TASKS |
The following list represents a comprehensive list of tasks appropriate to Senior ICT Officer posts at this level. Certain tasks are generic in nature and will be performed by most, if not all, of the Senior ICT Officers. Other tasks are more specialised and will only pertain to specific individuals. 1. Assist in the development and implementation of ICT systems. 2. Assist with service delivery in relation to Infrastructure, Operation and User Support. 3. Assist, where appropriate, in strategy and planning initiatives with regard to the specified function of the service area. 4. Assist, where appropriate, in management and administration with regard to ICT contracts, projects and resources. 5. Adopt and promote council policies. 6. Any other duties. |

- Significant experience in an ICT environment
- Education and Qualifications
- * HNC/HND in a relevant subject
