Mayhew provides a range of animal welfare and veterinary services, in the UK and abroad. Offering expert veterinary care, rescue and rehoming, programmes in the community and guidance and support to improve the lives of dogs and cats in need.
As Senior Individual Giving & Digital Officer will play a key role in the Fundraising Team helping to generate sustainable income and growth from Individual Giving activity at Mayhew across multiple channels, with a particular focus on growing digital fundraising to drive greater impact for dogs, cats and communities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supported by the Individual Giving & Legacy Manager, help deliver a core programme of warm appeals, regular supporter newsletters, and related digital fundraising campaigns, putting forward proactive decisions on concept, creative and delivery.
- In support of the above, independently work across a suite of digital marketing activities and channels to acquire, retain and develop new and existing supports.
- Specifically, develop and implement paid for acquisition advertising campaigns across Meta and PPC, including creative development, audience segmentation and testing.
- In addition to the appeals programme, deliver year-round fundraising activities, using creative digital ads and social media content, direct mail and other channels.
- Work with Fundraising and Engagement Team colleagues to improve digital engagement with supporters through optimising online donor journeys.
- Research and put forward new and motivating fundraising campaigns, designed to drive action from new and existing supporters, across multiple channels but especially digital.
- Evaluate, analyse and report on performance across our digital channels.
- Present campaign reporting in a clear and digestible way, sharing insights to optimise the Individual Giving Programme in the future.
Person Specification:
- A high degree of digital literacy: a developed understanding of digital marketing techniques including email communications, search engine optimisation and social media advertising.
- Significant experience of developing and implementing successful digital and multi-channel fundraising campaigns
- Experience of developing and delivering key messages to a variety of audiences across digital
- Experience planning and writing inspiring fundraising copy across channels (email, website and paid ads) while being clear and concise.
- Understanding of digital technologies such as social media platforms, Raisers Edge, Microsoft 365, Google Ads and Dot Digital.
- Proven experience of working with digital fundraising tools, especially Meta.
- Experience of working with data and fundraising databases to develop and measure marketing activities.
- Experience of managing projects from inception to end delivery/ managing projects from start to finish within given budgets and timescales.
- Demonstrable ability to analyse campaign results and effectively use insight to optimise future campaigns.
- Experience of working with external agencies, i.e. digital support agencies.
