Senior Innovation Technologist

Reports To: Director of Technology & Innovation
Location: Basingstoke/Hybrid
Very keen to hear from former Royal Corps of Signals and or applicants with a background in telecommunications and fibre optic technology components.
Summary
As a Senior Technologist, you will play a crucial role in driving technological advancements and innovation within our customer’s organisation whilst promoting the company’s value to potential customers in order to develop future business opportunities.
You will be responsible for overseeing the development of advanced technology solutions, as well as managing the research and development projects in Europe.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of technology strategies and initiatives to support the company's overall objectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement technological solutions that enhance future business opportunities
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, ensuring the successful completion of projects and tasks
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance our technology stack and improve the company’s capabilities
• Oversee & manage the Research and Development projects in Europe, and ensuring timely delivery of its deliverables and high-quality results
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technological trends and advancements, and provide recommendations for their adoption
• Represent the business in several industry consortiums and associations such as IEC, EPIC and also at any relevant technical consortiums
• Conducts research information and data on competitor’s’ fibre optics products
• Constant communication and collaboration with all Departments including Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
• Seek new product opportunities outside current market segments served
• Attend trade shows, conduct market research, and keep abreast of new technology
• Work with internal legal team to support Patents and Intellectual Property programs.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Proven experience in leading and managing technology teams
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively solve complex technical challenges
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
