Job description

We've been keeping Britain warm for over 200 years. Today we power 1 in 3 homes in the UK - but supplying energy is just part of what we do.

We're on a mission to make the UK's homes greener and more energy efficient. With clever tech like Hive thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers, we're making it cheaper and easier to reduce your home's carbon-footprint and with our new PeakSave programme, we're actively rewarding better energy use too.

To help us provide the most competitive deals we require a Senior Insurance Pricing Analyst.

Location: With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them - meaning location doesn't need to be a barrier. This role will be mostly based at home but you must be willing and able to travel to our Windsor office as required. There will also be occasional monthly travel to the London office.

We have tailored our well-being & benefits package around our employees as follows;

  • Competitive salary and bonus potential
  • Employee Energy Allowance at 15% of the government price cap
  • Pension scheme
  • Company Funded Healthcare Plan
  • 25 days holiday allowance, plus public holidays, and the option to buy up to 5 additional days
  • Excellent range of flexible benefits, including technology vouchers, electric car lease scheme & travel insurance

This exciting opportunity sits in our Protection Pricing Team which is responsible for designing, optimising and understanding all our insurance prices across our contract services from Home Care and Kitchen Appliance Cover to Break Down only. You will be part of developing and building customer level pricing models and conducting analyses to help monitor and understand performance. This helps us optimise and personalise our prices to make sure we get the best price to each customer.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create accurate, insightful pricing analysis to make data led recommendations to support and enable decision making, by evaluating customer, sector, product and market pricing requirements.
  • Review end-to-end customer journeys, identifying value opportunities, and forming recommendations on price optimisation across Insurance products.
  • Develop, analyse, and maintain predictive pricing models by using WTW Radar and Emblem to be used for price optimisation.
  • Help with the implementation of price changes, price elasticity test design, customer lifetime value and monitor the impacts on key business metrics.
  • Ensure that all pricing activity is aligned to regulatory requirements and has customer fairness at its core.
  • Contribute to the preparation of pricing governance materials, business case assumptions and financial models, liaising with other areas of the business.

Who are we looking for?

  • Significant experience working in an Insurance Pricing role.
  • First Class or 2:1 degree in a numerate discipline.
  • Proven SQL coding knowledge and proficiency in Excel.
  • Highly experienced with WTW Radar and/or Emblem.
  • Ability to interpret and work with large data sets and an understanding of modelling techniques with knowledge of GLM and machine learning within insurance.
  • Able to communicate insights and recommendations in clear and simple terms.
  • Good team player and able to build relationships across teams.

We are proud to be recognised as a disability-confident employer. Our customers come from a variety of different backgrounds, and so do we. We hire great people from all walks of life, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. We will continue championing inclusivity while investing in our local communities to create a better, more sustainable world for everyone. We are incredibly proud to have been recognised by The Times for being one of the Top 50 Employers for Women.

Our people are the beating heart of our business. We are incredibly proud of our commitment to being FlexFirst. From childcare to furry friends, we listened to our people and understood that they work best when they are comfortable and have a flexible working model that suits their individual needs. We embrace the opportunity to give our colleagues a choice to work from anywhere whilst still ensuring they can connect and engage with their teams through office days, employee networks and virtual events.

We are committed to creating a cleaner and greener future. And we're making big changes to help us get there. That means cutting customers' emissions and our own to reach net zero. And because our people are the beating heart of our business, we will continue to champion inclusivity, develop future skills and invest in our local communities to create a better world for everyone. As part of our reforestation project with WeForest, for every new employee that joins our family, we plant trees in underprivileged areas in Tanzania to offer farming and wildlife economy opportunities for locals.
