Quarriers are currently recruiting an experienced full time Senior Intensive Support Practitioner to join our Countryview Respite service for Children and Families. Countryview is set in the idyllic location in Quarriers Village and provides support to children who have complex needs including medical complexities. The service offers 24 hour support to children and has a sensory room, beautiful outdoor garden with swings and playhouse for children to enjoy time and time again.
As a Senior Intensive Support Practitioner you will lead shifts and provide supervision and guidance while working with the team supporting children and adapting care based on individual needs. As a qualified practitioner you will be expected to use your expertise to make sound decisions, monitor and carry out assessments as well as provide training, counselling and relevant advice. You will be skilled and an expert in managing conditions and support needs such as epilepsy, gastrostomy feeds, dysphagia, oxygen/c-pap therapy, neurodiverse children with autism, ODD, OCD and Dyspraxia to be able to offer advise and maintain a safe, nurturing and enabling environment for all.
Working pattern: This is a full time, permanent role working 37.5 hour per week. You will be required to work 4 days early or late shifts and 1 day 9am - 5pm for administration/paperwork duties. As a senior you will also be required to 1 in 4 weekends on a rotational basis.
What you will need to be considered
- Essential HNC Social Services SCQF Level 7 or relevant Health, Social Care or Education qualification or willing to work towards.
- Supervision experience/training or willing to undertake the Quarriers PDA in supervision training.
- Experience and knowledge of working with children & families in a similar setting.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written to support recording and reporting
- Willing to develop and learn where required to support and adapt care based on individual needs.
- Ability to offer support to Children, Families and young People including enable rights and deliver person centred care and trauma informed approaches.
- Flexible and reliable
- Must hold a driving licence
