Are you an experienced communicator? We are looking for someone with experience and drive who can help us to deliver effective Internal Communications to the Integrated Data Service (IDS) programme, a complex and large scale cross-government programme run by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The ONS is lead delivery partner of the Integrated Data Service (IDS). This service securely enables co-ordinated access to a range of high-quality data – critical to informing policy decisions and improving public services.
The Communications and Digital Publishing Division (CDP) plays a key role in managing the internal and external environment to support the ONS’ transformation and the delivery of the ONS strategy and the IDS. The role of the Senior Internal Communications Manager sits with CDP but is embedded within the IDS programme.
The Senior Internal Communication Manager role will be key in delivering internal communication and engagement activities for the IDS, and to all colleagues within the Programme and across the ONS.
Job description
As the IDS continues towards delivery milestones, the newly established IDS Internal Communications team will play a pivotal role in helping to articulate the strategy, bringing alive our vision so that our people feel included in our exciting journey.
This role will be responsible for building a coherent internal narrative across all content, creating fit for purpose tools and channels, and driving both engagement and culture change. We are seeking someone with gravitas able to give clear direction in a demanding working environment, while ensuring teams are well supported and that an inclusive culture is maintained.
You will play an active role in aligning the department’s internal comms work to the GCS best practice model. You will also offer advice to business areas across the programme on the use of corporate communications channels and how to effectively engage with colleagues.
You will line manage an Internal Communication Content Manager, and lead delivery of collaborative work across the programme to deliver engaging content that supports our key messages and builds a more informed and connected programme and organisation. You will work closely with other IDS communication team colleagues to ensure the alignment and consistency of IDS messaging, across internal and external audiences.
