Responsibilities / Position overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join our global, centralized IT department as the Senior IT Project Manager.

As the Senior IT Project Manager at Lumanity you will lead the successful delivery of IT initiatives within a mid-sized professional services enterprise. You will manage other IT Project Managers, maintain project roadmaps, assist with governance processes, and collaborate across various domains including infrastructure, operations, enterprise applications, software development, and cybersecurity to ensure the successful delivery of projects that support our business objectives and meet client needs. This is an opportunity to help determine and implement the project management approach and methodologies for Lumanity.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead IT Project Management:
    • Identify and monitor adherence to the chosen project management methodologies.
    • Oversee and manage project lifecycles, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Ensure appropriate, quality project deliverables are created for all projects and provided to the satisfaction of project sponsors and senior stakeholders, including project plans, schedules, allocation plans, stakeholder analysis, communications plans and RAID logs.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive strategies to address challenges and minimize disruptions to project timelines.
    • Manage vendor relationships and third-party contracts, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and quality standards.
    • Analyze project proposals to determine resource requirements and report on impact to current project workload.
    • Manage project resources effectively, including budget allocation, tracking expenditures, and ensuring optimal resource utilization.
    • Identify and maintain suitable project management tools.
  • Maintain Governance Processes:
    • Continually improve project governance processes, standards, and methodologies for project prioritization and execution, ensuring compliance and adherence to best practices.
    • Prepare reports for governance groups, project stakeholders, and senior leadership to ensure appropriate oversight for project activities.
    • Perform risk assessment and implement mitigation plans across multiple projects.
  • Manage IT Project Managers:
    • Lead permanent and temporary Project Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and support, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability, and facilitating their professional growth and development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work with infrastructure, operations, enterprise applications, application development, and cyber resilience teams to define project requirements, ensure resource availability, and manage dependencies.
    • Maintain project roadmaps for Operations, Infrastructure, Cyber Resilience, and Enterprise Applications teams, outlining project timelines, milestones, and key deliverables, while aligning them with business priorities and strategies.

    • This is a global role which may require some international travel with occasional meetings in key EU, US and UK offices. In addition, the Senior Project Manager needs to be aware of time zones and recognize that certain situations will require some flexibility in working hours in order to ensure adequate coverage on critical issues as they arise.

Qualifications:


Minimum Recruitment Criteria

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent related experience.
    • Project management training and certification required (PMP, Prince2, etc.).
  • In role experience
    • Eight or more years of IT project management experience with a track record of successfully leading projects in a professional services environment.
    • Demonstrated experience of managing IT Project Managers.
    • Evidence of using “soft skills” or “people skills” to achieve success.
    • Proven leadership skills, including experience managing and mentoring project teams.
  • Professional expertise
    • Highly familiar with project management methodologies (for example, PMI, PRINCE2, PMVOK and Agile).
    • Demonstrated experience interacting with senior leadership to C-Suite level with appropriate verbal and written communication skills for such audiences.
    • Expert knowledge of project planning, estimating, and monitoring tools.
    • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, operations, business applications, and cyber security concepts and their impact on project delivery.
  • Location – This role can be based either in the US or the UK, depending on the location of the best candidate for the role, although international travel may be required to other regions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – Ability to explain digital concepts and technologies clearly and concisely to business leaders, and business concepts to project teams.

    • This position at times will require evening and weekend work.
    • Travel as appropriate approximately 10-15% of time. Travel will be both national and international.
