The role involves undertaking research into the requirements of environmental compliance legislation overseas, confirming companies’ obligations and assisting with their compliance.


Overall purpose

We are a technology-led business, and our IT capability is all delivered by an in-house team of IT professionals. This includes infrastructure, software development, testing, project management, business analysts and implementation teams. Our role as a department is to deliver, manage and support IT services and solutions to the group.


Our responsibility in the infrastructure team is to ensure that all users have the best experience possible with the technology we provide them to deliver business-critical services to our customers.


As an IT Support Analyst with Valpak, you will have a broad role with an opportunity to be involved in all aspects of IT infrastructure, including user and End User Computer support, Office 365, networks, server environments (on-premises and Azure), collaboration tools and all IT hardware. You will be part of a team responsible for delivering new projects and ongoing support of the business's IT services.


As part of a growing business and team, the role includes all aspects of IT, from 1st line support via the helpdesk and local hands-on implementation and supporting escalations to senior technical support and project delivery.


The role will be based at our office in Stratford. You will also be part of the team supporting IT infrastructure across the group. Occasional travel to other sites may be required to cover colleagues and for the delivery of projects.


What will I be doing?

  • Being part of a team providing support for our staff and customers through our helpdesk system
  • Ownership of IT requests and issues
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues and identifying solutions
  • Procurement, build, implementation and local support of endpoint devices, such as: Laptops/PC's Tablets and hand-held devices, Printers and scanners
  • Support of Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Microsoft Office 365 environments
  • Network implementation and support (WAN/LAN/firewalls/switches/Wi-Fi solutions)
  • Server implementation and support (physical hardware, virtual machines) both on-premises and in Azure
  • Maintaining documentation and creating new operating procedures to improve services provided

Experience & Skills

Technology Stack:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 & 11
  • Microsoft Server 2012 onwards
  • Microsoft Azure (Virtual Machines, App Services, SQL Databases, AKS)
  • Office 365, InTune and SharePoint Online
  • Hyper V, VMWare and ESXi
  • Firewalls, switching and Wi-Fi
  • Xerox Paper Printers print services with PaperCut
  • Mobile device management (Manage Engine)


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in an IT infrastructure role
  • Based On site in Stratford 3-4 days per week
  • Information security focused
  • Ability to work with end-users and customers and be the 'face of IT'
  • Excellent communication skills with users
  • Ability to support desktop equipment, mobile devices and printers
  • Strong Microsoft technology experience
  • MS Office 365 support, incl. SharePoint
  • Active Directory management, incl. GPO
  • Microsoft Azure application and server support
  • Good understanding of network topology and routing with experience supporting network infrastructure
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Experience in providing remote desktop support
  • Patch management
