Job description

Provides and receives specialist complex technical information in order to resolve complicated IM&T support issues Interprets and communicates complicated, difficult-to-explain IM&T issues clearly to non-specialist staff and suppliers Liaises with third party specialist suppliers to resolve ongoing technical IM&T issues. Locates relevant, detailed information from within technical guidance manuals and documentation, internet searches and specialist knowledge bases Develops section staff under supervision and members of all project teams, improving the professional achievement of national and organisational standards, goals and objectives. Provides specialist and detailed knowledge of a range of common computer hardware (particularly PCs and printers). Provides specialist experience of incident management and request fulfilment, under Information Technology Infrastructure Language (ITIL) and its relevance to NHS Wales. Demonstrates and maintains specialist in-depth knowledge of IT technologies and how they are utilised in relevant NHS clinical and business processes. Provides detailed specialist knowledge and in-depth experience of Microsoft Windows client operating systems and Microsoft 365. Provides specialist knowledge and experience of Windows Active Directory for creating and management of users, PCs and security group access control membership. Utilises specialist experience of systems administration, following procedures and supervising the work of others to maintain high standards and quality. A good understanding of IT security, including anti-virus/malware, encryption deployment, data leakage prevention and deploying security updates, alongside theoretical knowledge on how to proactively minimise threats and manage IT security incidents. Uses specialist experience in an implementation role with Windows desktop/laptop PC deployments and networking devices. Utilises knowledge of staff recruitment, development, improvement and supervision.
