Senior Java Developer

Job Title: Senior Java Developer - Birmingham
Location: Birmingham, United Kingdom (On-site 5 day's a week initially)
Salary/Rate: £56.25/per hour (Inside IR35)
Job Type: 12-Month Contract

Java Developer with strong Microservices experience is required to work for a global investment bank, on an initial 12-month contract based in Birmingham.

Required Skills/Experience

1. Years of commercial software engineering experience in Java, Spring, Microservices.
2. Service oriented architecture development.
3. TDD/BDD
4. Experience working in an Agile environment.
5. Natural self-motivation with a passion for delivering excellence.
6. Great communication skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
7. Curiosity with an ongoing desire to develop and learn.
8. Good problem solving skills.
9. Bachelors degree / Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

Desirable Skills/Experience

1. Knowledge of DevOps tools, e.g. Jenkins, Sonar and CI/CD principles.
2. Experience with React/Angular frameworks.
3. Financial Services and/or Software Consulting experience.

You'll be responsible for:

1. Producing high quality, maintainable code
2. Supporting in the design and development of complex software solutions
3. Partnering effectively with client project teams
4. A natural ability to mentor junior developer.
