SalaryAvanti Recruitment is currently working with a software vendor who created the first 100% cloud-native platform for production and allocation. They specialise in the oil and gas sector. The company is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their already knowledgeable team. The role is fully remote, but you must be UK-based.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include hands-on coding, designing, and implementing complex backend containerised and serverless microservices on AWS whilst leveraging AWS Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and Aurora. You will also be integrating with high-volume, high-frequency data sources to create comprehensive and scalable solutions. You’ll work closely with stakeholders and work in an Agile team to implement the best solutions.
You will get to work across the full SDLC and will develop testable, readable, and effective production-quality code.

You will be the type of person who has a passion for technology, any side projects would be advantageous. If you have a good understanding of architecture, design, and coding then this could be the role for you.
The company doesn’t like people doing overtime and their servers shut off at 19:00pm to ensure you have a great work/life balance.
You will have worked on side projects or have a clear career progression path you want to take. They are looking for someone who is motivated and passionate about technology. You need to have AWS knowledge.
Required Skills:
- Excellent Java development experience
- Strong AWS experience (kinesis, DynamoDB, Athena, Lamda)
- Experience with Microservices
- Ideally, you have experience with Typescript
- TDD/BDD, CI/CD
Desirable skills:
- CSS
- Also bonus points for experience with React, Node.JS or Go.
- CI/CD (Jenkins)

The salary on offer for this position is up to £75,000 + 100% remote working + Flexible hours + 25 days holiday (+ Bank holidays).
