At our site in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire we are looking for a Senior Laboratory Scientist to join our expanding Immunology and Immunotoxicology (I&I) department.
Working as part of our I&I department, you will undertake assay validation & analysis of pre-clinical and clinical samples for the Immunoassay, flow cytometry or cell based section.The work in this department supports multiplexed & high sensitivity biomarker analysis, immunogenicity assessment, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic assessment of novel therapeutics.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Sample analysis using a variety of analytical techniques such as ELISA utilizing MSD, I3X and Luminex Technologies-and Flow cytometry, Cell culture
  • Management of Immunology phase of sample analysis studies
  • Conducting analytical method (and equipment) validation and assisting in analytical method development under the guidance of subject matter experts
  • Producing high quality data that are submitted to Quality Assurance on time and issued to clients within allocated timelines
  • Training other team members
  • Supervising junior members of the team (no direct reports)
  • Presenting findings to the team locally and globally alongside client interactions

Education:
  • BSc relevant to Immunology and Immunotoxicology e.g. Immunology, Biology, Biomedical Science. Experience may be substituted for education

Skills / Experience:
  • Recent years of relevant experience working within industry or academia as a scientist with knowledge and/or expertise in ligand binding, flow cytometry or cell based assays
  • Demonstrable experience working in a regulatory environment, preferably to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Experience with technologies such as Luminex, MSD, ELISA, gyrolab multiplex or similar is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Team orientated with excellent communication skills
