New Directions is recruiting for a Senior Learning Mentor on a Temp to Perm basis from September. Do you have experience working in a PRU or similar setting? Have you worked with learners that have barriers to learning? Have you worked with secondary aged learners with EHCPs by supporting their learning in the classroom? If so, this Senior Learning Mentor could be for you!

We have a range of FREE CPD training courses, from Safeguarding to Autism Awareness, which will teach you the relevant skills and attributes necessary for supporting children in our schools.

Responsibilities of the role included but are not limited to:

• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be able to support teaching and learning - especially with students who have EHCPs
• Work closely with Service Manager to devise plans for students who require additional help to overcome learning barriers
• Be encouraging and supportive.
• Have a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children's development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the student

• Be positive, flexible, patient and resilient
• Be committed to helping every student to achieve their potential
• Can build and maintain good relationships with teachers, students and parents
• Have good GCSEs or equivalent in English and mathematics
• Have strong ICT skills
• Be committed to promoting equal opportunities and ensuring the safety of all students
• Have a willingness to learn
• Be willing and able to drive across the city.
