The role
This post is an opportunity to join the Library’s Metadata Team. You will be part of a team responsible for cataloguing rare books from the Theatre Collection at the Library’s Research Reserve, its off-site book storage facility. This will aid accreditation for the Theatre Collection and ensure that unique and distinctive collections are discoverable.
This is a fixed-term contract until 31/07/2024.
What will you be doing?
You will be carefully matching and enhancing the catalogue records of rare books from the Theatre Collection. This role will include some original cataloguing, adding provenance information and handling rare and old printed material. You will be working among a small team of colleagues based at the Research Reserve.
You should apply if
You are an excellent communicator, highly organised, possess strong IT and systems skills and have excellent attention to detail. Previous cataloguing skills would be an advantage. The candidate must be able to work effectively on their own or as part of a small team.
