About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of Location Planning experts who lead our store portfolio thinking and strategy. You will be based in our Nottingham Support Office with the need for some nationwide travel, so a full driving licence is required.

Sitting within the Estates function, the Location Planning team operate as valued consultants to the Boots business, working particularly closely with the Property, Group Strategy and Retail & Pharmacy Operation teams. They advise across a large, mature retail portfolio with significant opportunities to shape the future of the business.

As one of three Senior Location Planning Analysts within a supportive and collaborative team, you will be involved in the high-profile process of deciding where our stores are located and deliver sales forecasts to key decision makers. You will also take accountability for delivering a variety of location-related project work.

You will work cross-functionally to shape the Boots Portfolio Plan, assessing current locations, new sites, evaluating both pharmacy and retail sales opportunities across all our store formats, as well as competitor analysis.

To support you in your role you will use the team's Geographical Information System (GIS), wide-ranging ‘locational’ information, analysis, models and insights from our wealth of Advantage Card customer data.

What you’ll need to have

  • Analytical experience in a commercial or academic research context
  • Experience using GIS, Alteryx, APT, databases & spreadsheets
  • Confidence in presenting insights to senior stakeholders, both verbally and written
  • An ability to apply analysis in a business and commercial context
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver business objectives.
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Self-motivation and be results focussed with the ability to prioritise and deliver multiple concurrent projects to defined deadlines
  • Good communication and be able to build effective relationships within the business and the external market

It would be great if you also have

  • A commercial awareness
  • Prior knowledge & experience of a retail environment
  • Experience using some location/spatial analytical techniques
  • A passion to learn and develop
