Position Overview

Working within the operations maintenance Integrated Process Team (IPT), the Senior Maintenance Technician will provide technical maintenance engineering support for planned and reactive maintenance activities within our vaccine manufacturing facilities located at Milton Keynes

The Senior Maintenance Technician will have the aptitude and capability to work individually or as part of a small integral team, dedicated to a series of manufacturing streams on a range of process and facility assets.

Ideally, the Senior Maintenance Technician will be multi-skilled, with ability to confidently fault find, diagnose, and rectify issues on mechanical, electrical or controls-based manufacturing machinery and systems.

Duties, Responsibilities, Activities

Performance

  • Working within a multi-site production/research orientated environment whilst maintaining the balance of completing maintenance and repairs with the minimum of disruption.
  • Working safely to current statutory legislation and industry guidance.
  • Collaboratively working together with peers, internal stakeholders and external contract partners to complete maintenance activities.

Leadership

  • The Senior Maintenance Technician will demonstrate the ability to coach and mentor peers and team members to share skills and knowledge, supporting the overall development of the team.
  • The senior technician will maintain a high standard of personal adherence to our safety and quality compliance standards and policies.

Customer Focus

  • Engagement with internal IPT business unit customers, to define service levels and deliver the agreed outcomes.
  • Responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities are performed to the required standard and delivered at the agreed deadline.
  • Responsible for organising permits to work, service interruption notification and fire alarm disconnection.
  • Responsible for the execution of planned electrical, mechanical maintenance and statutory inspections.
  • Liaising with internal customers to proactively identify and remediate emerging technical issues.

Ideal Background

Minimum Experience Required:

·Demonstration of a formal period of recognised craft or trade training in mechanical, electrical or controls-based systems.

  • Experience of working in a regulated dynamic manufacturing environment

Skills/Knowledge Desired

Knowledge of pharmaceutical processing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and building services, particularly:

  • Autoclaves.
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning plant.
  • Refrigeration plant.
  • Water treatment systems.
  • Steam and hydraulic services.
  • Pressure vessels.
  • Compressed air systems.
  • Electrical switchgear and controls.

Experience and the ability to effectively use technical software, specifically:

  • TREND BMS software
  • Ifix and Fix32 Process control Software
  • Allen Bradley PLC programming language
  • GE fanuc PLC software and hardware
  • Cimplicity process control software
  • SAP Plant Maintenance CMMS

Ability to effectively use written documents, specifically:

  • Equipment Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s)
  • Equipment manuals and instructions
  • Work orders and permits to work.
  • Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Engineering technical drawings
  • Electrical schematics
