As a Senior Maintenance Technician at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill.

About the Role

  • £46,420 per year + 15% Shift Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
  • Based at Avonmouth

What will I be doing?

The Senior Maintenance Technician has responsibility to provide technical support for the safe and efficient operation of the MRF through the application of effective maintenance and engineering; via direct management of a team of Maintenance Technicians/ Apprentices .

The Senior Maintenance Technician will be responsible for developing the proactive and reactive maintenance schedule, overseeing its implementation and being accountable to the Operations Manager for any over target downtime.

Key activities include:

  • Develop and maintain pro-active/re-active maintenance schedules
  • Supervise a team of Maintenance Technicians/Apprentices
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with the maintenance schedule
  • Develop and implement maintenance work practices and procedures
  • Actively seek opportunities to reduce maintenance costs and time of activity
  • Setting and monitoring of plant housekeeping standards

What are the Requirements?

  • Experience in troubleshooting SCADA/PLC systems and instrumentation 
  • M&E (60/40) split NVQ 3 Mech. Eng or equivalent 
  • Electrical knowledge preferable with 17th Edition 
  • Experience of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) 
  • Experience of maintaining heavy plant , material sorting equipment,   electronic systems control 
  • Experience of using Microsoft software to produce spreadsheet and reports 
  • Supervisory management skills and experience
