Role Definition
Manages the day-to-day operations of all shifts of a large facility or multiple manufacturing processes.

Required skills & experience:

- Extensive experience coaching, leading, and developing of a team large team (approx. 150 plus) of diverse skill sets and technical functions

- Strong experience and understanding of all areas within a production environment

-  Solid knowledge of OEE, MTTR, MTBF metric tracking and root cause analysis from this data.

- Previous experience of developing and implementing production plans and strategies

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

- Analytical skills, creativity, and logical thinking to reach a solution

Preferred skills, qualifications& Experience:

Any Engineering, Manufacturing or Management related degree or the equivalent experience

Previous experience of lean manufacturing - NEBOSH/IOSH qualification or evidence of safety improvements and/or has been Safety Rep
Role Responsibilities
Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for operations staff; managing, motivating, and developing management team.
Overseeing operations activities, ensuring that safety, and schedules and performance requirements are met and system resources are used effectively.
Driving improvements for overall operations performance and implementing production safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms.

Ensures the compliance of all regulatory guidelines and forges a safe and sound manufacturing environment.

Lead, coach and drive lean manufacturing across the team.

Develops detailed productions plans and strategies.

Expert for leading New Product Introduction (NPI) within the production areas.

Steers and guides several areas to the manufacturing process such as fabrication, manufacturing, paint, assembly, test, and shipping.

Manufacturing Operations: Knowledge of manufacturing operations; ability to perform day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility for products.

• Monitors organizational adherence to policies and procedures.
• Facilitates communications across departments to ensure a smooth workflow in the plant or facility.
• Evaluates the risks and safety hazards present in manufacturing operations.
• Recommends key industry benchmarks of manufacturing operations and relates to own organization.
• Supervises daily operations to ensure production targets and forecasts are achieved.
• Uses Lean tools and techniques for anticipating / scheduling demand and assuring capacity consistency.

Manufacturing Safety : Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
Level Extensive Experience:

Leads safety inspection and auditing procedures in areas of control.

Assures compliance to Health and Safety at work act requirements and can lead area in reviewing and adapting to varied regulations, ACOP and WEL monitoring - for areas of responsibility.
• Designs and administers emergency response processes and procedures.
• Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers; communicates safety rules and regulations.
• Assesses and reports new safety hazards or violations; initiates corrective action.
• Ensures that all employees and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Contributes to the development and implementation of specific manufacturing procedures.
• Investigates the need to refer potential exceptions upward for review and approval.
• Explains the rationale for procedures and standards in own area of responsibility.
• Participates in the implementation of manufacturing standards and procedures to one's own function.
• Provides feedback for improvement of procedures.
Production Scheduling and Control: Knowledge of procedures and tools for scheduling and controlling production runs; ability to utilize knowledge of daily manufacturing processes to assure quality deliverables.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Follows existing procedures to set up, stage and ensure proper job completion.
• Identifies demand patterns; implements demand management processes.
• Coordinates appropriate production documentation and authorizations.
• Diagnoses and addresses production problems using established guidelines.

Prior experience in strategic planning and supervisory experience is desirable. Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department. Must be proficient with all Microsoft office products. Must be willing to work outside of normal work hours including overtime and alternate shifts.
