The Role - Senior Manufacturing Technician, Microscopy & Metrology Semiconductor Process Equipment

This innovative technology leader now has a number of roles for Senior Manufacturing Technicians.

Senior Manufacturing Technicians will undergo extensive training at their manufacturing facility in the production activities that ensure their products meet internal and external customer requirements for performance and reliability. You will be responsible for supporting the building of all assemblies required to complete the build and test of a Rapid Probe Microscope system within the Operations team. These roles would suit energetic individuals looking to progress their career in an Electro/Mechanical environment with opportunities for international travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and test complex sub-assemblies and assemble the tools to the necessary standard using build and Test documents.
  • Identify and report problems with manufacturing and work with the Manufacturing engineering team to find solutions.
  • Assist the manufacturing team in maintaining and improving processes and manufacturing quality.
  • Support the NPI Manager and Manufacturing Manager in delivering on time product to the customer.
  • Produce well documented Build Notes and Test procedures as and when required in line with NPI Engineers
  • Generate Bill of Materials, as and when required in line with NPI Engineers
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the production and cleanroom areas.
  • Kitting of assemblies to the BOM.
  • Support the Operations team in maintaining a high standard of Health and Safety across the business.

Your Background - Senior Manufacturing Technician, Microscopy & Metrology Semiconductor Process Equipment

To be considered for these exciting roles, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

An individual with good hand to eye co-ordination who can demonstrate a high degree of manual dexterity and a high level of technical ability. Be able to think on their feet when required.

Education / Qualifications:

  • An educational qualification (e.g. Apprenticeship, HND or degree) in a relevant discipline (Electro mechanical assembly)
  • Over 10 years practical experience in a Manufacturing Technician role
  • Experience at an international level in core technology areas

Professional Skills/ Abilities:

Essential

  • Experience of building and testing complex high technology products
  • Experience in assembly of Optical components and use of Lasers.
  • Experience of wiring/soldering to IPC standards
  • Experience of working with engineering development and release into a product (i.e. Product Life Cycle).
  • Experience of using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, mustimeters etc.
  • Experience of working within a Cleanroom environment
  • Understanding of Quality Control and/or Manufacturing engineering
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to Travel if Required (US Visa Required)
  • Fluency in written and oral technical English
  • Good computer skills.
  • Experience of report writing.
  • Looking for a career path within an engineering environment.

Desirable

  • Experience in manufacturing within the Semiconductor field would be a major advantage
  • Experience of building and testing any or all of optical systems including lasers and fibres, electronics, electro-mechanics would be an advantage
