Senior Margin Analyst

If so, we have an exciting opportunity here at EDF for a Senior Margin Analyst to join our team!
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for you to apply your commercial and financial skills in helping Britain achieve net zero!
You’ll join the team which is driving the commercials of energy usage in the homes and small businesses of the future, as they increasingly adopt new technology like electric vehicles, heat pumps, batteries and solar installations. You’ll structure and design commercial mass-market propositions for this future, all while taking accountability for managing the margin from one of Britain’s largest residential and small business portfolios.

What you’ll be doing
Some of what you’ll do:
- Financial modelling – performing Discounted Cashflow or Lifetime Value analysis for investment valuations and market positioning.
- Market scanning – assess the landscape and identify key opportunities to create value for EDF and our customers.
- Develop innovative structures to bring value to customers and enable the transition to net zero, e.g. electric vehicle tariffs, flexibility services, time-of-use tariffs.
- Margin strategy – analyse our products, costs and operating context to define our margin targets.
- Take end-to-end ownership of the commercial aspects of bringing products to market, e.g. price setting.
- Forecasting the size and energy needs of our customer book, to enable effective purchasing.
- Provide commercial business partnering across the wider Retail organisation, e.g. contract negotiations, new sales channels or investment appraisals.
- Work with Data Product teams to develop and enhance cutting edge analytical tools that support and enable these decisions.Who you are Financial modelling/commercial analysis
- Strong ability to build financial models, e.g., discount cash flow analysis for valuations or Lifetime Value models for market positioning.
- Able to weigh up multiple scenarios, consider multiple factors and present options / outcomes to aid decisions.
- Comfortable reviewing financial outputs and drawing conclusions about performance.Data analytics
- Data transformation using tools like Excel, Alteryx or SQL to combine datasets and extract required information.
- Build clear visualisations in tools like Excel or Tableau to convey information and gain insight.Relationship building
- Able to work effectively across the organisation on commercial matters and provide value input and perspectives on non-commercial matters.Presentation skills
- Good presentation skills and ability to put forward recommendations confidently.Market and regulatory context
