Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting AXIOM in the appointment of a Senior Materials Engineer, to support clients to maximise the integrity of their assets and minimise risk. This is an exciting opportunity to support a growing business, and you will play a key part in AXIOMs full asset life cycle offerings contributing towards improving integrity across the Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Food, Bulk Storage & Distribution, Renewables and Energy sectors and occasionally the automotive and aerospace industries.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to identify a broad range of failure and corrosion mechanisms and contribute to the development of risk-based inspection procedures for a variety of high-hazard process equipment.
- Compile detailed reports determining failure and corrosion mechanisms to high standard.
- Conduct site inspections and assessment sofa AXIOM clients and provide support to mechanical, inspection and process safety departments.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience working within a similar role and industry, using cutting edge equipment and handling chemicals.
- Laboratory experience with experience working towards all aspects of health and safety and good housekeeping standards.
- Experienced with a diverse set of metallographic tests, including Macro and Micro Hardness Testing, ASTM E562 and ASTM E45.
- Experience and knowledge of failure analysis, welding, deterioration mechanism and corrosion assessment.
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or alternatively time spent in the materials testing industry.
- Confident using laboratory-based equipment and workshop sample preparation equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills, organisational and well-developed influencing skills within s client facing role.
