AddressExpress Recruitment are proud partners of one of the UK’s leading bespoke manufacturers of automation and integrated systems. Due to continued success our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design & Product Development Engineer to join their highly talented and growing design team.
The role will be 98% mechanical, so if you have any electrical knowledge it could be advantageous but is not essential. If you are purely mechanical and not electrical please still apply.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop and build custom and one off machines and automated systems for a range of industries
- Work extensively with the Design and R&D teams to design, develop and build special purpose machinery prototypes
- Perform in depth market research analysis into emerging design innovations on the market to ensure the business are keeping up to date with technological advancements
- Liaise with clients during design consultations in order to understand bespoke requirements and work out the most beneficial and cost-effective solutions
- Make modifications to design models when necessary
- Design 3D prototypes in order to seek client approval prior to production
- Ensure project deadlines are consistently met
- Travel to customer sites when necessary and attend project meetings
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Degree, HND or similar in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience designing and detailing either any special purpose machinery, packaging machinery, conveyor systems or automation plant is essential
- Proven R&D engineering experience
- Any project management experience / skills would be advantageous
- Experience and knowledge is essential with either: Inventor / Solid Works / AutoCAD
- Excellent interpersonal skills on all senior levels
