Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

FINTEC recruit is recruitment for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our manufacturing client, an international business in Renfrewshire.  This is a permanent position, working Monday to Friday (hybrid options discussed), early finish on Fridays.  Salary negotiable by experience, plus pension, health/medical insurance.   You will be a technical lead for a small team, driving new product designs to meet client requirements

Responsibilities:

• Provide design solutions through life engineering support for new product ranges
• Technical Team lead meeting customer specifications, providing solutions
• Sourcing suitable components and materials for projects;creation of part numbers and bill of materials
• Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification and reports
• Technical approver of drawings and documentation as required

Skills and Experience required for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role:

• Proven Mechanical Design skills
• Skilled in generating design calculations
• Excellent knowledge of manufacturing techniques
• Excellent knowledge of gas and fluid systems
• Knowledge of Pressure Vessel design skills using PD5500, ASME VIII, EN 13445
• Knowledge of design standards.
• Knowledge of industry guidelines such as IMCA.
• Previous product design experience would be advantageous.
