This role is to join a global engineering business, they play a leading role in some of the world’s most exciting and challenging engineering projects covering sectors such as energy, rail, defence and aviation.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will join an established professional building services design team where you will be supporting and delivering engineering solutions for a wide-range of technical design packages.
You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge, experience and problem-solving skills on some of the leading complex UK-based engineering projects.
Responsibilities - Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
- Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems - heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic services, drainage calculations etc
- Production of technical deliverables including, specifications, reports, schedules, calculations schematics and drawings.
- Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools such as IES etc
- Collaborate with the BIM team
- Reviewing progress
- Assist with technical development of junior staff.
Experience Required
- Appropriate qualification in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in mechanical building services design with an awareness of carbon reduction and building physics
- Ability to work within a team,
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Working towards becoming Professionally Qualified (CEng, MCIBSE, or equivalent qualification).
