We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer based out of our Dumbarton facility.

What you’ll do:
- Develop new and existing products using established engineering principles.
- Understand product needs and translate these into system and subsystem requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and OEMs on component selection.
- Support/Lead design reviews in accordance with Aggreko design process.
- Create technical specifications, functional design specs and test procedures for mechanical systems.
- Support manufacturing and procurement teams with prototype build and BoM completion.
- Support the improvement of HSE performance via product design and operational guidance, ensuring safety is given top priority.
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant industry experience in design of industrial machines.
- Extensive Mechanical systems knowledge gained through equipment design experience.
- Strong in DFM/DFA as well as engineering drawing standards (including GD&T)
- Capability includes analysis (thermal, vibration, torsional stiffness, flow, stress, noise), material and component selection, life determination, tolerance analysis.
- High level of technical communication (verbal and written)
- Proficient in CAD systems. Knowledge of Creo desirable.
- Knowledge of engineering systems and processes - PLM systems (Enovia/Windchill), MRP systems (M3), Engineering change control, international standards, component selection, and new product development processes.
- Can work effectively autonomously or as a key contributor within a small team.
- Highly computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft office.
Desirable but not required:
- Chartership attained (or working towards)
