I am recruiting for a leading Space company based in the Berkshire area and they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

As a crucial team member, you will play a pivotal role in launching the world's a new propulsion system into orbit. Your responsibilities include designing and manufacturing this system, ensuring its flawless execution during our groundbreaking in-orbit demonstration mission.
This opportunity extends beyond mere employment; it's a chance to leave your mark on one of the most pivotal spacecraft missions in space technology.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and development of our next-generation air-breathing ion propulsion system.
- Collaboration with mechanical, test, and simulation engineers.
- Building complex mechanical systems, encompassing CAD, drawing preparation, tolerances, and structural analysis.
- Delivering an entire subsystem from inception and taking full ownership of the design work, ensuring the success of our upcoming mission.
Role Requirements:
- Exceptional skills in CAD modelling, drawing preparation, and knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and materials are essential.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, structures, loads, joints, and other mechanical components is required.
- Experience with FEM software for structural analysis (e.g., ANSYS).
- Experience in high-tolerance design, manufacturer selection, and basic quality control is vital.
- Previous experience in the space industry.
- Comfort with a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
