Salary: starting in the range of £24,533-£27,980 including London Weighting
(FTE £40,888 - £46, 633)
Working pattern: Part-time, Permanent (21 hours per week, 0.6 FTE)
Pension: USS
Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays and wellbeing days
Location: Hybrid working - Based in central London (Euston), with occasional UK-wide travel and flexible working options
Reports to: Head of Operations

Job Purpose
GuildHE is seeking a Senior Membership and Events Officer to support the efficient management of membership engagement, administration and support, as well as, running GuildHE conferences and Events.
The Senior Membership and Events Officer will be the main contact for all enquiries by existing and prospective members to facilitate effective engagement alongside the External Relations and Operations staff.
The post holder will require a good understanding of a membership-focused organisation and have events management experience in a professional setting. We are looking for an effective and confident communicator who can demonstrate excellent time-management and problem-solving skills, who is a good team player, self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative. The role is ideal for someone who is skilled in collaborative working and is thoughtful, accountable and decisive.
Key Responsibilities Membership engagement
Responsible for member engagement, developing a member strategy to track engagement and demonstrate value
Maintaining and updating key contact information for all member organisations to ensure contacts are recorded and monitored effectively with GDPR compliance
Collating information for onboarding of new members whilst working with the Senior Communications Officer and Head of Operations.
Supporting the development of membership communications plans, working with the Senior Communications Officer, External Relations and wider team
Survey members to gather their views to enhance the membership offer
Managing incoming email enquiries and delegating actions to team members where appropriate.
Support with identifying and developing membership recruitment strategies alongside the senior leadership team
Identifying opportunities for strengthening member engagement in networks through effective communication, CRM database management and research
Ensuring personalised member packs are circulated to new members and appropriate communications are done on time
Working with the Head of Operations to coordinate the member renewal process and emailing member institutions
Event management
Coordinating GuildHE networks, workshops and conference events throughout the year, including GuildHE Research and Ukadia
Leading the development and organisation of key events and programmes of work throughout the year
Managing event logistics including e.g. AV, catering, packing and courier booking
Handling queries and registrations from delegates and sharing key details with the team
Manage events within the agreed budget allocations
Booking/ recording video content where appropriate
Assist with the development of event email campaigns alongside the Senior Communications Officer
Arranging and setting up internal meetings with AV equipment and room/catering arrangements where required
Minute writing for GuildHE Council meetings
Booking travel for team members and Executive Board members where required
Arrange external hire of GuildHE Board and Committee rooms
Regularly reflect on how to improve events to support in the development of income generation
Other duties
Trained to use the finance system in the event of ad-hoc support needed
To adhere to GuildHE’s policies and procedures.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required.

Knowledge and understanding of the higher education sector
Understanding of GDPR compliance and relevant legal and statutory requirements
Understanding and experience of working in a membership organisation
Experience of diary management
Experience of managing financial records
Experience of using software packages - MS Office, G Suite, Wordpress, Mailchimp and Xero (or similar)
