Job description

Senior MI Analyst

  • Join a reputable and people-focussed organisation as a Senior Claims MI Analyst

  • A technical and varied role supporting the management of claims performance through data driven insight and innovation.

  • This is a hybrid role with 80% homeworking available and 20% in Stratford upon Avon

About the role

As a Senior Claims MI Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing claims performance by overseeing the production and quality of Management Information (MI). This position offers a balanced blend of routine and more varied tasks, from standard KPI reporting to involvement in one-off activities and innovative projects. Your responsibilities will include the extraction and visualization of data using PowerBI dashboards, delivering insight and recommendations that enable internal stakeholders at various levels to take informed actions. Additionally, you’ll actively contribute to change activity, by helping to forecast the impact of change and developing metrics that enable us to measure the success of each project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing standard reporting that the business needs to monitor claims performance across our commercial, motor and personal lines of business.

  • Creating impactful PowerBI dashboards and presenting data-driven insights to various stakeholders, tailoring the narrative, and offering valuable recommendations

  • Supporting project teams in understanding the implications of change and measuring its success against each business case

  • Contributing to regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting

This role also offers a unique opportunity to be part of the discovery phase of machine learning models within the team, with the possibility for personal learning and growth in this cutting-edge area. As a member of our team, you’ll also have the chance to engage with our Innovation Working Group that fosters creativity, explores modern technologies and seeks to drive innovative solutions to enhance the teams’ capabilities and outputs.

About you

We are seeking a self-driven and results focussed professional with robust data analysis skills. You must be capable of collaborating effectively across all levels of an organisation with the ability to tailor data solutions and insight to business needs. You’ll have a track record of successfully developing end-to-end automated data pipelines and reporting solutions.

To be successful in this role, you’ll be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience of extracting reliable datasets (ideally using SQL) and visualising this data using PowerBI. This will involve manipulating and analysing data from various sources, interpreting results, and preparing actionable recommendations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data manipulation, pivot tables, charts, formula, macros, and VBA

  • A solutions-focussed mindset with the ability and confidence to challenge thinking

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to explain what the data means to non-technical audiences to support decision-making

If you have used systems such as Guidewire Claims Centre, Data Hub, COGNOS, or if you have experience creating business reports using Info Centre, this would be advantageous, but not essential for the role. Similarly, it would be beneficial if you have experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.

At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique.  We celebrate the creativity and innovation that comes from diverse perspectives and experiences and share a common vision of doing the right thing for our customers and employees.

We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during  the recruitment process. So, we encourage candidates to discuss any adjustments or accommodations they need to be the best they can be throughout our recruitment process.
