A substantive, full-time position has become available for a highly motivated Band 6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the first Academic Health Science Centre in the UK.
This rotational post includes opportunities to develop skills and expertise in the upper and lower quadrants, complex patients, hand therapy and pelvic health.
You will be joining a large team of band 5, 6 and 7 therapists which includes a diverse mix of staff including; rotational physiotherapists, specialist hand therapy occupational therapists, specialist pelvic health physiotherapists and therapy assistants and technicians. Additionally we have a well-established team of clinical specialists, orthopaedic and pain physiotherapy practitioners. At Imperial we have a strong links with research and are fortunate to have the lead clinical academic for therapies nested within the department
We have a novel way of developing staff, utilising an innovative new patient model within clinical teams, each led by our Clinical specialist practitioners. Complex new patients are assessed in a specific clinic with time allocated for reflection, integration of evidence based care, peer learning and so incorporating CPD into daily practice.
Feedback consistently supports that these clinics are very effective for both therapists and patients and are a highlight of the therapists’ working week. The various teams will offer exposure to a variety of clinical presentations including; upper- and lower limb conditions, spinal pain, rheumatological and persistent pain. As part of your rotations there will be opportunity to work within the hydrotherapy and balance disorder services. Rotating through these clinical disciplines will allow you to continue your development into a well-rounded, experienced clinician.
The musculoskeletal physiotherapy service provides a comprehensive range of services to patients with a musculoskeletal diagnosis, accepting referrals from Consultants and other AHPs that comply with local catchment criteria.
